πάθος δεν είναι η επιθυμία—η φανέρωση του ζωντανού προσώπου, η φανέρωση της απορίας της ύπαρξης·
πάθος είναι η πλαστή επιθυμία—η αγχώδης προσπάθεια της αυτοαναφορικής συνείδησης για αυτοβεβαίωση, η βία του μοναχικού εγώ πάνω στην φύση.
η πλαστή επιθυμία, η πλεονεξία της κατανάλωσης, το κέντρο της αστικής ζωής, είναι, σαν τέτοια, ακόρεστη·
κι αυτό το ακόρεστο είναι η κόλαση, η μόνη κόλαση, η αδικία της μοναξιάς χωρίς τέλος.

a vicious passion is the fake desire—the anguished exertion of a self-referred consciousness for self-affirmation, the violence of a lonely ego over the nature.
fake desire, the greediness of consumerism, the core of bourgeois life, is, as such, insatiable;
